Mentors

The primary role of the Adventure Mentor is to serve as a support system for first year students and help them transition into college life on The Hill. Mentors are charged with helping students better understand available resources and opportunities, encouraging students to learn about and participate in campus traditions, and facilitating discussions and activities throughout camp. They also assist with planning the small-group activities called “Group Huddles”.  Connections made at R.O.C.K. Camp Adventure are very strong, as students have to depend on each other very heavily during this program, and the mentor helps students keep these connections strong throughout their first year and college careers!

Each year a group of exceptional student leaders are chosen to facilitate the R.O.C.K. Camp program. These students are leaders on campus in a wide variety of areas including student government, fraternity and sorority life, athletics, religious organizations, and residence hall leadership. They dedicate their time and energy for the entire year to welcome new students to the University of Arkansas! Applications are available each year in the beginning of the spring semester.
